The requirements for modern software systems are growing continuously. Heterogeneous and distributed environments are not an exception anymore. To face this challenge you need a solid foundation for your C++ applications. Generic++ is mature and robust C++ foundation class library with an integrated test-framework, that is in use by many well known companies. It runs on all major platforms and is highly portable.

Since 2001 the follwowing new features have been added to Generic++:

  • A very light and efficient non-validating XML parser.
  • DOM support for the XML parser.
  • A light and efficient visitor class for XML document trees.
  • Conversion of XML document trees to XML text output.
  • C++ unit test framework (similar to JUnit for Java).
  • A very flexible new datatype G_Any, which can hold numbers, strings, dates, booleans and list or associative arrays of those items. Any's can be stored and retrieved in the WDDX format, which is based on XML. They are most useful for all kind of configuration information and flexible interfaces.
  • An implementation of abstract message channels, which can be used for decoupling the sender of a user message from its output device.
  • A message filter class for the internationalization of user messages.
  • Support for several internet data formats like UTF-8 or base64 encodings.

Take your time and download Generic++ right now. Private and academic users can use this product for free. All other users can evaluate the full product for six weeks free of charge and without any obligations.

Please note, that all product documentation including the HTML reference is in English language.

By the way: Generic++ has won several awards of the well known German object technology magazine Objektspektrum in the category class libraries and frameworks.
